Congratulations to the 2023 Nashville Jazz Workshop Billy Strayhorn Jazz Education Scholarship Award Recipients

The Billy Strayhorn Foundation welcomes this outstanding group of 5 student musicians from the Nashville Jazz Workshop selected as this years Billy Strayhorn Jazz Education Scholarship Award recipients.

The students are part of an innovative program by NJW Called Jazz Set, a three-day long, intensive workshop in jazz for students of all instruments, ages 12 to18. Students enrolled in the NJW Jazz Set studied jazz styles, theory, improvisation, listening, and of course, playing in jazz combos. A swinging concert closed the event, with some great playing all around!

Kudos and continued success to our young up and coming musicians for already showing a love and passion for this amazing music we call jazz.
