Congratulations to the 2025 Billy Strayhorn Jazz Education Scholarship Award recipients from the Nashville Jazz Workshop

Kudos and congratulations to the 2025 recipients of the Billy Strayhorn Jazz Education Scholarship Award from the Nashville Jazz Workshop. The week-long Summer Jazz Camp held at Vanderbilt University, helps to nurture the musical talent of middle and high school students, giving them an inspiring and accessible experience. Student explore topic specific classes, designed to elevate their musicianship in: Theory and Harmony, Jazz History and Listening Skills, Improvisation Techniques, and Masterclasses with Special Breakout Sessions. 

Our Strayhorn Scholarship Recipients from NJW for 2025 were: Paul Gates Jr., Andrea Martinez, Brandon Nelson, and Brandon Rono. David Rodgers, Executive Director of the Nashville Jazz Workshop commented… “Without a doubt, they would not have been able to attend the camp without the support from the Strayhorn Foundation-so let me just say one more time: Thank You!!”
